Who they are: Clever is a startup that helps third party developers to integrate school data within their apps.

Why they're inspiring: School systems works in such a way that it’s pretty difficult to access and analyze data on students, from attendance to grades and to just about anything else. Schools store all these data electronically. To make matters more complex, there's no standard way to organize these data. Clever is attempting to solve this problem by creating an API (application programming interface) for education, so that developers can build products that are tailored to individual students.

Who they are: Code For America is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 to bring web-industry professionals to work with city governments in the United States in order to promote openness, participation, and efficiency among municipal governments.

Why they're inspiring: The organization brings innovative ideas and cutting-edge technology to the local government, by playing a very important role when the government is looking forward to serve their citizens but currently is running on low budget.  

The group has already delivered 28 apps among cities from Philadelphia to Chicago and beyond.
