The country has also secured 5^th spot in the global competitiveness index.  

#8 Estonia

Estonia, a country with just 1.3 million people has secured the eighth rank in the list. According to Toomas Hendrik Ilves, the President of the country, “technology is a way of combating Estonia’s biggest problem: size.” On an interview with The Wall Street Journal, he said: “We are too small. Technology is our solution. We can increase our functional size by giving to machines anything that they can do that humans are doing, so that people can do other things.” The country has many effectively running tech initiatives like e-voting and digital signature act.
