Bangalore: Zomato, the world's fastest growing online restaurant and nightlife guide, has made its way to South Africa, launching its Johannesburg section. Covering over 2000 restaurants in Johannesburg, Zomato is available both on the web and on their free mobile apps.

Zomato.com provides in-depth information on over 2,000 restaurants in Johannesburg, making it the most extensive restaurant discovery platform in the region for anyone looking to dine out, get food delivered or order take-away. Zomato's strength is the information it provides on the restaurants, such as scanned menus, photos, mapped coordinates, and user reviews. On mobile, Zomato's location-aware applications suggest the best restaurants around the user's location. All of Zomato's web features are available and fully supported on the mobile app.

Zomato was founded by Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah in July 2008, for restaurants in Delhi. Since then, Zomato has expanded its services to 21 cities in 7 countries.

Headquartered in New Delhi, Zomato began its international expansion with the Middle East market, launching its Dubai section in September 2012, and has quickly expanded to UAE, UK, Qatar, the Philippines and Sri Lanka. Continuing its aggressive international expansion, Zomato has now entered South Africa with Johannesburg as its first market.

Zomato provides information such as scanned menus, mapped coordinates, pictures, ratings, contact details, and user reviews for over 94,000 restaurants across its locations.
