YouWeCan Invests In SportyBeans- Startup For Kids


BANGALORE: Yuvraj Singh has proved his sincerity no just in the game of cricket but also in the business space. His VC fund YouWeCan recently made its ninth investment in the startup landscape in about six months, reports ET.

YouWeCan has put its money in Luminosa Education Pvt Ltd, which runs various sporting programmes for pre- and early-school children under the name of SportyBeans.

Yuvi backed YouWeCan had already made investments in mobile phone based apps, health marketplaces, education and much more.

10-15 pct stake has been acquired by Singh in SportyBeans. The startup caters to the physical fitness needs of kids and has  made its presence in the nation with 35 centers across 17 cities. The amount of investment has not been revealed yet. However, the news of investment was confirmed by Singh and SportyBeans director Karan Sareen stating that the venture would create an impact of establishing young sportperson. 

"This (SportyBeans) is a unique platform to identify and develop interest in sports at an early age and hopefully it will help in creating a transformational impact on building the next generation of sportspersons," said Singh.

Yuvraj Singh will also participate in the course curriculum designing along with making investments.

The company plans to raise $8-10 million to grow a network of over 200 centers in the upcoming two years with revenues of about 80 cr. The venture will soon be spotted on the global map as it has signed an international franchise in Mauritius and looks forward to roll one out in Malaysia soon. Around 15,000 students enroll at this sports startup every year.

Entrepreneur Gaurav Marya from Franchise India, a franchising and licensing consultancy firm lent advice to YouWeCan on the deal.
