What Do Indian Startups Look For In Candidates?

BANGALORE: Probably, what is the biggest challenge for a startup in today’s scenario? Is it raising funds or building ideas for future? According to Swati Bhargava, co-founder of leading cashback site Cashkaro, “It’s better to look for a right person and then spend energy,” reports Times of India.

Very well apt to the Bhargava’s statement, an established business industry is growing at a very fast pace and because of wrong decisions in hiring the inappropriate people, waists time and money in their training.

Bhargava further explained, "We had to let the person go in three months and undo and re-do a lot of work done by him. We realized in hindsight that it would have been better to wait and look for the right person than spending so much energy, time and resources on making it work,” reports TOI.

The prolific peers in the startup business from Snapdeal and Vuclip to Cashkaro, Wingify and TastyKhana are setting standards and assessment tests on aptitude, skill, and culture and fitment basis. These assessments also include psychometric tests to measure stress tolerance, risk taking, adaptability, guilt consciousness and dependability of the potential hires and working tendency in extreme situations.
