We Need Women Entrepreneurs, But We can't Protect Them: India

Bangalore: The recent Delhi gang rape has evoked a sense of ‘urge to react’ amongst Indian youth. People in the western countries and other parts of the world feel that India is not a safe place for a woman and as a matter of fact this notion cannot be proved wrong. Though women in India feel it less safe to travel or even speak up, the country boasts about nurturing great women entrepreneurs.

Recently, Dell conducted a study on ‘Women Global Entrepreneurship’; it said there are optimism from women entrepreneurs in India who expect median business growth of 90 percent. “We have found the ideal country for a woman starting a business could well be India,” says Amit Midha, Dell’s Chairman for Global Emerging Markets.

Recapping to the rich Indian history one can derive into a conclusion that Indian women have surpassed all barriers to prove their worth to the world. Great freedom fighters like Rani Lakshmi Bhai, Rani of Jhansi and Kitturu Rani Chennamma have showed the world that ‘women’ are no less in terms of courage and will power.
