Thrillophilia Raises $200K From Hyderabad Angels And Others


Bangalore: Thrillophilia, a Bangalore based travel curator has raised $200K from Hyderabad Angels, iLabs Venture Capital Navlok Ventures and Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) IIM-A, reports Watblog.

Founded and incorporated in 2009 by Chitra Gurnani Daga and Abhishek Daga, Thrillophilia plans adventure and activity trips for interested individuals, international travelers and corporate houses. It features 400 activity-based tours and 1,000 off-beat travel experiences, marking its presence in over 72 cities and having alliances with 450 regional service providers.

Thrillophilia claims to have a loyal user base of 2,200 customers out of which a large portion belongs to the corporate sector. The company earns 7 to 9 percent commission on travel packages that are booked on its platform. It intends to target 6000 experiences by December and serve one lakh experience hours a month towards the last quarter of 2014.

Interestingly, the company is also now focusing on short-duration experiences and things to do across different destinations.
