However, the latest in vogue is the wearable technology gadgets, a growing trend among the youth and sports enthusiasts. In addition, many entrepreneurs are looking at wearable technology as a huge market potential to venture into. Currently, the most talked-about latest wearable technologies are Apple iWatch and Google Glass. Leaf Wearables

With the increasing crime rate in our country and around the world, safety of women has become a serious issue for nations today. In India, the crime on women and young girls is on the rise. As an attempt to provide safety for women while in crisis, Manek Mehta, co-founded a company called Leaf Wearables. A New Delhi based startup provides women, children and senior citizen wearable tech jewellery with a main aim of providing security. According to Mehta, the company’s mission is to make one million families safer by 2017. The startup’s first device called the “Safer” is designed as a pendant, which is programmed as an in-built panic button that can be easily connected to a smartphone. During the emergencies, the pendant can be pressed with a trigger to send an alarm to guardians.
