Texool, a Bag Producer with RRR Mantra

BENGALURU: Most Indian youth today, when their middle class family business of decades deteriorates, would decide to peruse a different path. But that’s not what Mr. Jaideep Sajdeh chose to do, he in-turn redrew the roadmap. As the Wall Street Journal Reports, “Mr. Sajdeh–whose family has been turning old garments from the West into recycled yarn for decades–decided to create a new source of demand for used textiles by starting a new business: shopping bags made from reused cloth.”

As per the reports, the multi billion industry that sorts and processes worn garments for the purpose of reselling has begun succumbing to a fallen demand. “We used to get sheets in the used clothing containers and I could see you could use these big pieces of cloth to make something,” he said.

“As people are getting richer it is no secret that there is more wastage happening, more dumping happening,” he said. “Somebody has to step up somebody has to start taking responsibility doing this on a mass (production) level rather than a cottage (industry) level”

Apart from being an entirely green initiative, his company Texool is also a means of employment for those in Mumbai suburbs. As people are getting richer, it is no secret that there is more wastage happening, more dumping happening. Somebody has to step up, somebody has to start taking responsibility doing this on a mass (production) level rather than a cottage (industry) level,” Jaideep adds. His capacity today is around 1.5 million pieces a year. He plans to increase that to 5 million in the next four years.
