Social Media Website Worldfloat Aims At 100 Million Subscribers Base In 8 Months

NEW DELHI: Home-grown social media website Worldfloat aims to double its subscriber base to 100 million in the next eight months.

"At present, we have about 50 million subscribers base and are getting average of 5 million new users every month. We have planned 30 new products around Worldfloat which will accelerate our growth and should touch subscriber base of 100 million within 8 months," Rockland IT (owner of Worldfloat) Chief Executive Officer Pushkar Mahatta told

Worldfloat has incorporated free movies and viral videos news service, stock analysis, dating tools and others.

"We have analysed daily habits of most of people. First thing is that they connect with someone by having chit chats, read newspapers, opt for entertainment and then look for their business. We have tried to sync their real life social needs with online social life. This is concept on which we have been working," Mahatta said.

Though Worldfloat's focus is not on games, it is working on cognitive learning games that can help user gain knowledge.

Worldfloat has recently added digital marketing feature-MarketX, to attract firms looking to advertise online.

"MarketX is a product which can provide online digital marketing service at one-tenth cost of what customers pay to leading social media companies. We penetrate advertisements in to over 100 leading social media sites, web pages and blogs compared to about 10 offered by others. This diversification reduces cost," he said.

The company has primary servers installed in Hyderabad and has tied up with servers at foreign locations for back-up.
