Bangalore: Indians have finally chosen to shop online. Hundreds of new ecommerce stores and initiatives like Google’s online shopping festival which was a blockbuster in the country, diminished the remaining fear people had, to shop online. India has an internet user base of over 121 million users. The penetration of e-commerce is low compared to markets like the United States and the United Kingdom but is growing at a much faster rate. In an exclusive interview with SiliconIndia, Ajay Chandra, CTO of Infibeam, one of the largest ecommerce site in India said, “Indian ecommerce is a billion dollar industry today and by 2015 it is expected to grow to the tune of $35 billion.”

Having a strong hold and understanding of the ecommerce Infibeam launched BuildaBazaar in August 2011 which is India's first Do-It-Yourself ecommerce solution. Directly influenced by Infibeam, the platform helps create online e-commerce stores for small, medium and large scale businesses in India.
