Rainmaker Receives $3 Million In Seed Funding


Bangalore: Rainmaker, a Mumbai based venture, dedicated in providing specialized learning materials, has raised  seed funding of $3 Million (16.4 crore) across three rounds from a mix of family, friends and angel investors, reports ET.

Its primary investors includes, Sajan Poovayya, the additional advocate-general for Karnataka and managing partner of law firm Poovayya and Co., as well as Bahram Vakil, one of the cofounders of corporate law firm AZB & Partners.

Nikhil Chandra, a law school graduate, founded Rainmaker in 2007. The venture provides different online lessons, based upon areas ranging from communication and drafting to fundamental areas of law and corporate practice areas and even various other niche areas like the sports law. It also offers courses on trade law that are delivered as short- duration courses for university students, and provides high end content about the legal profession through interviews, opinions, videos and journalistic articles about the law.

In January, Rainmaker tied up with the Nalsar University of Law in Hyderabad, which provides short certificate programmes for students.
