Niti Aayog Reveals the Facts about Koramangala Startups Clusters


BANGALORE: Koramangala is known as Bangalore’s startup hub and is the country’s first technology startup cluster. According to a recent survey by Niti Aayog, the policy think tank of the Naredndra Modi government it has been registered that almost 84 percent entrepreneurs in Koramangala are graduated from less known colleges and only 16 percent startup founders in the area are only graduated from Institutes of national reputes such as IITs and IIMs, reports rediff.com.

The survey stated that "What seems to count here is talent, skill and experience, rather than a degree from a national institute of importance," said the survey. "While all entrepreneurs were highly educated with graduate or post-graduate degrees, they came from a mix of engineering and non-engineering backgrounds and only 16 per cent came from institutions of national repute."

The survey was carried on through online and had covered 900 startups clusters located in and around Bangalore. The survey also showed that 70 percent of the startup founders had worked with a multinational company in prior to finding their own. The changing trends in the locations of startups were also mentioned in the survey. The entrepreneurs seem to relocate to their home towns to start new ventures which include North East, Goa and Orissa. Thus this is been stated as the desire to make it big in the business map by being closer to their roots.
