Lexity Became Yahoo's 20th Acquisition

Bangalore: Yahoo has now acquired startup company Lexity, which is its 20th acquisition ever since Marissa Mayer took charge as the CEO, reports Mashable.

Lexity is an Ecommerce App Platform which builds a range of apps and serves to several small businesses. An app called Lexity Live allows users to track traffic to their online storefronts in real time whereas another app streamlines the process for listing products on Google Shopping.

By far, Mayer’s acquisitions have only been about talent. From all the 20 startups that Yahoo has acquired, most have shut down, or their teams are assigned to work on Yahoo’s current products like Yahoo Mail and Flickr.

Lexity, on the contrary, has decided to continue to operate all of its apps, unlike Tumblr and Qwiki. The company says it will work on its resources in order to enhance them tan what they are currently.

The price of the deal has not yet been disclosed by either of the two companies. The company has raised $5.7 million from venture capital firms including 500 Startups, Spark Capital and True Ventures.
