Komli Media Acquires Singapore Based Admax

Mumbai: Komli Media has acquired Singapore based digital media network Admax. This acquisition will provide Komli Media with the region’s largest and most diverse publisher network of 4,600 local and international websites, including Admax’s exclusive sales partnership with Facebook in Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines and with MSN in Thailand.

The experienced team of Admax and sales relationships with over 350 premium advertisers such as Sony, Citibank and Blackberry will fortify Komli’s leadership presence in the region. Admax Network was launched in 2006 and is an independent online media network in South East Asia. The company has over 4,600 high-quality websites and more than 1,000 campaigns delivered in 2011.

Komli Media is a media technology company established in 2006 by Amar Goel and Akshay Garg. It provides solutions across display, mobile, video, social, search and data for advertisers, agencies and publishers. Headquartered in Mumbai, the company has over 300 employees across 12 offices in India, Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, Middle East, Hong Kong, North America and U.K. After this acquisition, the employee strength of the company has reached 400.

Komli has raised a total of $21 million in two rounds of VC funding from leading VC firms including Norwest Venture Partners, Nexus Venture Partners, Helion Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurvetson. It has acquired three companies, Aktiv Digital, Indoor Media and PostClick since 2010.

Akshay Garg, Co-Founder and VP, International, Komli Media adds, “This is the largest acquisition that we have made till date. Prior to this, Garg was a restaurateur in China, a research analyst at the United Nations in Switzerland, and a consultant with Deloitte Consulting in the U.S. He attended Whiteman College, a premier private liberal arts college in the U.S., and graduated with double major in Economics and Politics. He also holds a post-graduation in Economics from the University of Geneva in Switzerland.

The company has no plans for further acquisition yet, but always looks forward for expansion in terms of product offerings and team. With the current acquisition, they look forward to become the leading player in the market and expanding their market share in geographies like India, SEA and Australia.

Komli Media will integrate its current SEA team, operating as Aktiv Digital, with that of Admax’s, under the Komli Media brand. With this acquisition, Komli will be more than 400 people strong and will service more than 1000 active advertisers across Asia Pacific with a reach of over 150 million unique monthly users.
