Is Flipkart To Strike A Deal With Bangalore-Based NGPAY ?


BANGALORE: Flipkart is dreaming big. This year it made a huge acquisition of what once was its rival, the e-commerce retail portal, Mnytra.  The leading e-commerce brand in India just made news again with the plans to buy NGPAY. Flipkart plans to hike up its mobile e-commerce business to taken on the likes of Snapdeal and Amazon.

NGPAY is an online portal to buy any product through the phone. They have identified themselves as the ‘mall on mobile’ company, which gives easy access to products all around the country. The online portal was launched in 2008 and has now grown across the whole country. As per their reports, an Indian uses NGPAY in every 0.5 second, giving it a very high popularity rate.

Flipkart are in talks with NGPAY to close the deal on acquisition of the business that will boost the reach and popularity of Flipkart through this new portal, which can be accessed from any phone. NGPAY also has interest in travel and entertainment that will give Flipkart the edge over other e-commerce giants.

The reports from ETNOW shows that Flipkart is hoping to boost its mobile business in tier 2 and tier 3 cities. They also want to tap into the 3.8 million users of NGPAY and make their payment gateway delivery more efficient. The officials of Flipkart haven’t commented on the deal as of now but the final decisions of the acquisition plans are underway.
