Insieve Nabs Fund From Ojas Ventures And Blume Ventures


Bangalore: The intelligent information sharing network, Insieve has raised an undisclosed amount of fund from Ojas Ventures and Blume Ventures. The company plans to use the fund for product round-up and for developing go-to-market strategy along with hiring new talents.

Established in December 2011 by Ventakesh Sharma and Bharath Mohan, Insieve is an intelligent information sharing network that learns about the users from what their friends share with them, learns about their friends from what the users share with them.

Sharma is also the CEO of the company and he brings a rich systems experience into the company. Prior to this, he has worked at Veritas, NetApp, Sonoa, and Agami. He holds an undergraduate degree from Mysore University’s SJCE.

Mohan holds a PhD in Information Retrieval from IISc. He has worked at Google, and other startups before joining Insieve. Sharma and Mohan also co-founded Dhiti, Nuggetize and Intweetion.

The company currently has a head count of four members and plans to increase it to another four. It also plans to make the product go live for users in two months.

Ojas Venture Partners is a $35 million India focused early stage venture capital financing and investment firm investing in technology based businesses in sectors such as Mobile technology, telecom, SaaS, embedded software and others. Some of the portfolio companies into which Ojas have invested are Tyfone, Ziva Software, Vizury, CoCubes.com and several others.

Blume Venture provides seed funding in the range of $50,000 - $250,000 to early stage tech-focused ventures. Its portfolio company includes Adepto, Eki Communications, E2E Networks and others.
