Infosys to mentor 16 UK Based Startups

Bangalore: Infosys, one of India’s largest IT Company has signed up to mentor 16 of the United Kingdom's emerging digital, wireless, and mobile software technology companies, reports TOI.

Some of U.K’s most promising startups are on an entrepreneur-led trade mission to Delhi and Bangalore through which the country plans to enhance new business relationships and penetrate to the Indian markets. This announcement of mentorship was revealed during their visit to Bangalore during their inaugural Web Mission 2013 to India.

The first major session of the event was held in Bangalore hosted by Infosys, it plans to provide each startup with a UK based mentor to support and guide them through their startup journey so that it would drive them to potential markets and sub continents.

"Not that long ago, Infosys walked in the same shoes as these entrepreneurs, we built our business to become a global company in three decades, so I hope to bring some lessons about entrepreneurship in India to these companies. We are supporting them both in India and, after they return to the UK, helping and advising them on how to capitalize on the opportunities for emerging technology companies in the Indian market," said Infosys Executive Co-Chairman S Gopalakrishnan.
