Indian Start-ups On Prime Focus As Google Launches 'Launchpad'


BANGALORE: After a successive run in testing its start-up mentor programme in Israel, search giant Google has turned towards Indian startups to kick-start its start-up mentorship programme “Launchpad” this 2015, signaling its growth allure in Indian start-ups, reports ET.

Earlier this week, there were four such week long programmes, during this a set of mentors from Google and other companies will train startups looking to grow. “This is one of our large scale new programme offering, “pronounced Sunil Rao; heads the start-up initiative for Google India.

While Google has an allurement in growing India’s digital economy, the startup programme could also spin into a tube for Google’s Finance across the indian shores. Following that the organization’s venture capital arm had recently chose a stake in real estate doorway Commonfloor and Freshdesk; a Chennai-based customer support tool.

In India, Google has chalked out schemes to train up to 100 companies through Launchpad; which it started 3 years ago, on a small scale basis in Israel. Yesteryear, it was also conducted in 20 different cities.
