Indian Startups Offer Animal Lovers An Alternative To Leather

Bangalore: If this is the pace then, Blue Cross might really not have much work to do. Startups in India are slowly turning kind towards animals, maybe they are genuine or maybe it is the money factor or maybe it is a mix of both. Whatever it may be, it is a good news. Bangalore and many other cities in India are seeing a whole bunch of startups coming forward with innovative materials that can be a direct supplement to animal leather. The target audiences of such startups are generally animal lovers or non – leather apparel lovers, reports ET.

It’s true that there are many startups in the similar space but i-Ethos is quite different. This startup has a patented product which it claims to be the next best thing after leather as it provides the same comfort and durability like a leather wear. “My mother was asked why she was wearing leather shoes despite being a Jain," said Lunia, founder of i-Ethos, to which he recollects as the incident that triggered the entrepreneurial spark in him.

This 27 year old man has took the initiative to create something like this few years back with a seed capital of 25 lakhs. After almost 2 years Lunia was able to build a product that could save animals from being ruthlessly slaughtered. The founder also expects the company to reach the magical figure of one crore in terms of revenue.
