Indian Startup To Launch Smart Shoes

BANGALORE: A shoe is an item of footwear intended to protect and comfort the human foot. But have you ever wondered that a shoe could guide you the way or count the number of steps you took and how many calories you burn in walking?

An Indian high-tech start-up has announced that a new, GPS-enabled smart sports shoe that vibrates to give the wearer directions, counts the number of steps taken, distance travelled and calories burned is coming out soon.

The 2 engineering graduates Krispian Lawrence and Anirudh Sharma founded the tech start-up Ducere in 2011 in a very small apartment and today they are leading a team of 50 members. Lawrence said in an interview with AFP, “We got this idea and realized that it would really help visually challenged people, it would work without any audio or physical distractions,” reports The Times of India.
