Indian Entrepreneurs Show A Never-Say-Die Attitude: Survey

Bangalore: Despite the continuing economic slow down and low credits, India’s small and micro businesses seem to show a never say die attitude says a new research by Regus.

Regus which is based in Luxembourg organized this survey among 550 Indian entrepreneurs who run startups. 82 percent of the respondents said that with a given chance, they are ready to do it all over again.

According to the research results, (as responded by Indian entrepreneurs) early Indian startups lacked accesses to credit (70 percent) and red tap (70 percent), considered to be  the main discouragement to establish business today. Followed by this was the lack in government support (65 percent) and the sate of economy (46 percent). Another 43 percent of Indian entrepreneurs stated that the biggest obstacle to their businesses was the dominance of large corporations.

As reported by ET, regional Vice President (South Asia) of Regus, Madhusudhan Thakur commented saying, “Thank goodness for the unstoppable Indian entrepreneur. Who knows what state the economy would have been in, if they decided to play safe and downsize like a lot of their larger and arguably better resourced competitors. The challenges they face are not new, but they are clearly saying that a little impact has been felt from state support initiatives, despite the best efforts of government.”
