Home, Furniture & Shoe Startups Developing Technologies For E-Tailers

BANGALORE: A startup has come forward from the south part of Bangalore with a development of a virtual trial room for the feet -through an input of selfies taken to get the exact fit.

The startup holds a 95 percent accuracy of obtaining the right fit by receiving just three pictures of the consumer’s foot. This is to say that the Findmeashoe.com is connecting with big ecommerce firms in India along with several global shoe brands, for a partnership. "We digitized the art of fitting into the pseudo-science of fitting, we never had to do a sales pitch, there is so much need for It," said Anand Ganesan, the co-founder and chief executive of the firm who was a former executive of Intel, report The Economic Times

Findmeashoe.com is a new age startup that is creating technologies for online retailers like Flipkart who are reimaging Smartphones as the fundamental for their digital strategies. This will further their promotion of sales and increase the involvement of shoppers.

In the same wave length, Whodat have come up with a technology where shoppers can visualize home decor items in their homes. Similarly, Hyderabad-based Wazzat Labs's technology enables users to search and shop for products photographed on Smartphones.

Amazon has reportedly roped in Pittsburg based, Shoefitr, which has come up with a 3D technology for digitally recognizing the right shoe size.

"Today, many of the technologies that were considered remote are becoming imminent. 3D visualization, printing, image recognition, and virtual reality are becoming a reality; we are focused on creating such unique experiences for shoppers and are investing deeply in technologies like these," said Shamik Sharma, Myntra's chief product and technology officer.
