Google To Directly Mentor 25 Indian Startups


BANGALORE: For the first time, search-engine giant Google is all set to take up topics ranging from design thinking, marketing and business development to directly mentor 25 Indian startups under Nasscom initiative. This brainstorming session will take place in a weeklong mentorship camp, named Launchpad, in November at its Bangalore branch.

Heads of these lucky startups will get the chance to get train in Google India’s Bangalore office where Google employees from all over the globe will share their expertise and experience with them.

On top of these, during this event, these 25 startups will get the chance to get enlighten with the overall aspect of entrepreneurship right from conceptualizing ideas, design, user experience, sales and marketing and business development.

Most recently, similar program were also conducted in Israel as a one week pre-incubation curriculum for early stage startups.  During the program, each day was allotted for a particular subject that includes one on one mentorship, presentation and focused work.

Sunil Rao, country head of startup ecosystem at Google India said, “It will be a first of its kind in Asia. It may then be rolled out to places like Tokyo," reports Economic Times.

Google is looking forward for such program to get expanded in Brazil and Tokyo as well. The search giant is well known as the principal sponsor of the 10,000 Start-ups program.

 Through its sponsorship of the Nasscom 10,000 Startups programme, till date, Google has been active in the Indian startup scenario.
