HYDERABAD:Under an initiative to encourage innovation in the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart cities space, Flexeye, a Britain-based privately-held software and solutions provider,  opened HyperCat accelerator and incubation centre here.

The facility, the first outside Britain by the not-for-profit consortium HyperCat, will support 40 start-ups with technology mentorship, funding and provide them a global network to take their products to market.

The consortium, involving 700 international businesses including British Telecom, Cisco, Flexeye, KPMG, Symantec and WSP, is lead by Flexeye and supported by the British government. It currently has two facilities in Britain.

HyperCat is creating a standard which is making Internet of Things data more discoverable and interoperable.
