BANGALORE: Google has taken the initiative to help out Small and Medium Business in India to go online by the end of 2015. In March, the search engine giant has launched its Indoor Maps technology in the country, by targeting SMBs that contribute significantly to its global revenue. With the launch of Indoor Maps technology, Google has brought its massive search and mapping source to Indian local markets. India is said to be the second biggest Internet market in the world surpassing U.S. by 2015, as reported by First Post.

Indoor Google Map Technology is made available for all Android and iOS devices. Now users can virtually browse and find out specific locations, especially inside an unfamiliar shopping mall. The logic behind this launch is to help out SMBs that are unable to get customers as they are located in the highly populated commercial places, with limited parking space.

Currently the search engine has almost 3 lakh SMBs and plans to add further 2 lakh. India has 47 million SMBs out of which only less than 5 percent have online presence, according to reports. Google is also trying to widen its coverage to almost 100 other cities in the country by the end of this year. The internet giant is also planning to provide the customers with an excellent web hosting plans starting at as low as $1.

Allan Thygesen, Vice President and global head of SMBs for Google, said that SMBs must have websites and mobile phones for more publicity. Moreover, the rapid growth of Smartphone is making it inevitable for SMBs and corporate to venture into mobile space.

K.Suryanarayana, the head of Small and Medium Business, Google India, said that the rapid growth of reasonable Smartphones brought more users online. E-commerce industry that was nearly at $10 billion in 2013 is subjected to reach $80-100 billion by 2020.

Google helps SMBs to get connected with its Indoor Maps technology, by designing website, social page, and mobile ready site. The facilities that Google maps, Google search and YouTube provide can also be utilized in this regards. SMBs can also keep a track on their efforts using Google analytics. Google also has come up with products such as AdWords Express, which enables the SMBs to perform online advertising campaigns.
