Canvera To Get Its Next Round Of Funding From Info Edge

CanverBangalore : Having earlier invested in companies like Applect Learning Systems, Etechaces Consulting and Marketing, DC Foodiebay Online services and Nogle Technologies, Online classifieds company Info-Edge that provides services from education to recruitment to matrimony to real estate has recently invested Rs35 C in Canvera.com, the online photography company through optionally convertible, cumulative, redeemable preference shares according to the BSE filing.

The company had also earlier invested $2mn in MyDala, around $2mn in PolicyBazaar, and $3 million in Zomato. The investment in Canvera.com is Info Edge’s second funding this year.

Founded by the IIT Bombay Graduates ,Dheeraj  Kacker and Peeyush Rai in 2007, Canvera.com the famous ecommerce and social platform for photographers, helps enabling professional photographers to buy and sell their work and collaborate with clients.  The company had its earlier funding rounds raised by three venture capital companies namely Footprint Venture, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Mumbai Angels apart from two angel investors in the US.

Canvera first founded with Rs 7 crore in seed capital and has  grown today with more than 300 people, multiple offices and hundreds of salesmen .It now offers various pricing plans and various other features like a personal website, social media presence, e commerce solutions , image storage etc to aspiring photographers.

Known for providing solutions to online photographers, Canvera is a digital photography company headquartered in Bangalore. With its e-stores the company has a market of services for private and corporate functions, fashion, weddings, corporate brand books etc..

Competing with local startups like Printo and Zoomin, the company provides hosted ecommerce solutions thus enabling photographers to monetize their work and market themselves better with its world class printed products, online solutions and stock photography. The company has raised a total of $13 million till date. The company plans to use these funds acquired by Info edge for its sales and marketing operations.
