'Avaamo' Set To Explore Mobile Messaging Market With Its Launch

BANGALORE: Mobile messaging has been the most used feature around the globe and seems to be the best way to be connected without spending much money. With mobile messaging industry been already jam packed, there has been another launch of a startup offering mobile messaging to enterprises, named as Avaamo; led by two former TIBCO executives announced early that they have secured $6.3 million in seed funding.

With the launch of Avaamo, the sustainability factor is in question; whether it can stand against the pressure and larger expectations in the market. The probability of larger enterprises coming in the market along with collaborations and other tie-ups, makes a new startup vulnerable, though Avaamo as a company is confident enough under its CEO and co-founder Ram Menon.

An IOS app was launched by Avaamo and has plans to offer Android app as well, which will be available free. Avaamo will charge companies for its Premium version, which includes the IT admin console.

Menon said he’s not concerned about the possibility that large communication and collaboration vendors like Google and Microsoft will come out with their own enterprise mobile messaging services, eliminating the need for products like Avaamo. “I don’t think they will provide this as part of their suites,” he said, adding that Avaamo has been beta tested by 27 companies in 17 countries, as reported in PCWorld. Currently Avaamo has 16 employees and is based in Los Altos, California, and Bangalore.
