A Desi Entrepreneur's Magical Pressure Cooker


Bangalore: Coffee, one of the world’s most consumed beverages, has a long history which dates back to the 15th century. Though there prevails a lot of speculation on the origin of coffee, people from all around the world have loved its taste and most importantly the brewing part of it. Coffee-making has slowly transformed into an art with experienced and trained baristas designing the taste, look, feel and especially customizing it to the needs of the people.

A poor innovator

While technology did its bit by simplifying the whole procedure involved in making coffee, a man from Bihar, India, took a giant leap forward by inventing a simple low cost gadget to make coffee – made out of pressure cooker and pipes. Yes! With this invention, Mohammed Rozadeen, a man with no education or money gained quick respect in the community as he was indirectly dealing with another trivial issue, self-employment for the uneducated.
