6 Successful Startups Founded by Foreign Returnees


BANGALORE: Most Indians dream of going abroad, earn hefty salary and settle down there. In spite of this widespread notion there are a bunch of young entrepreneurs who returned to their mother land leaving foreign dreams behind to start a venture and been greatly successful as well. Right from Kunal Bahl, the founder of Snapdeal to Swati Bhargava cofounder of CashKaro were all the people who showed us the real spirit of entrepreneurship and patriotism. Do you known that the leading e-commerce site in the country took birth from a dilemma? Well, Kunal Bahul had to return to India when his work visa was rejected while employed with Microsoft which eventually led to the inception of Snapdeal. The startup by the young founder aged 30 has already secured over $90 million investment. Bahul explains that it is easier for a startup to shootup to new highest in India than in the U.S. once the initial hurdles are crossed.

Savaari Car Rentals (Gaurav Aggarwal: Founder and CEO)

Gaurav Aggarwal was confident enough to quit his job at Cisco to come back to Indian and  start a car rental service. Founded back in 2006, Headquartered in Bangalore, the startup was successful in expanding their service to other 66 top cities in the country. Savaari took off the ground with an initial amount of fifty thousand rupees and it included three other cofounders, Mohit Khanna, Rahul Khanna and Manik Shah.
