4 Things Entrepreneurs Are Hoping To See In The Budget

BANGALORE: The Government is being surprisingly quiet in the lead up to the Budget announcement. Normally many of the key points will be out in public before Budget day, but this year the Govt has only given few hints of what’s planned.  As India's entrepreneur and risk-capital communities are keenly awaiting the upcoming Union Budget, here is a list of 5 things that IT entrepreneurs expect from the union budget, reports Rediff.

High Initial Seed Capital to Promote Entrepreneurship

In the modern open economies, entrepreneurship is argued to be far more important than what it ever was before. With the series of challenges ahead for the newly flown Govt, it is very important for the upcoming budget to consider entrepreneurship as opportunity rather than necessity.

Nasscom vice chairman and executive chairman of Cyient Limited, BVR Mohan Reddy said that the current Govt should create a mission with initial seed capital of 500 crore to promote entrepreneurship.

Creation of Knowledge Infrastructure

As two thirds of the R&D expenditure in India is happening in the government and public sector, the upcoming budget has to give significant attention to create and upgrade the knowledge infrastructure and reverse certain strong trends in the economy that will prove to be productive.

By doing this it will lead to creation of infrastructure and provision of incentives to the IT sector for moving to Tier II and III cities.
