Amazing Underwater Statues around the Globe

4. Neptune Memorial Reef, Florida

Designed by artist Kim Brandell, Neptune Memorial Reef is the largest man made reef ever conceived.  The reef occupies more than half acre space at a depth of 40 feet and an expansion of over 16 acres of Ocean floor are in progress. The reef was originally named as the Atlantis Memorial Reef that was part of a Neptune Society sponsored underwater cemetery which also acts as an artificial reef. The cremated remains are cast into concrete memorials and placed within the city, where visitors can explore the largest man made reef.

5. Moai, Easter Island

Even though the Easter Islands are home to the amazing Moai figures, the underwater Moai are said to be not genuine and is rumored that it was actually a prop from Kevin Costner’s failed movie, Rapa Nui.  Another story is that a local dropped it down there as a remembrance, although a remembrance of what is still a mystery.  Divers who see it can probably accept one of these explanations!
