The All-new Toyota Fortuner All Set for Release

BENGALURU: The Japanese automaker, Toyota is all set to make a major comeback into the Indian market with the all-new Fortuner version.  Even though the launch date is set around the first week of November, the company has already started online registrations for booking the most popular SUV in India. The car was even spotted in some of the Toyota outlets recently.

Gazing at the body design, the new machine comes with elegant headlamps coupled with smart LED DRLs. The large chrome around the fog lamps and the front grille give a well-built look for the SUV. The window lines are designed with a kink at the C-pillar synchronized perfectly with the rear. The new masterpiece is made more muscular with the massive 18-inch alloys fitted under the large wheel arches.

The mechanical parts of the Fortuner seem to resemble more with the newly launched Toyota Innova Crysta. The SUV comes with two options in diesel engine- a 2.4 liter GD, and a larger 2.8 liter diesel engine, both coupled with a 6 speed optional manual or automatic gear box. While the 2.4 liter VNT Intercooler engine offers 340Nm torque at 150 bhp power, the 2.8 liter engine is capable to produce 172 bhp power and 373 Nm torque.

The company claims that the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) makes their cars more lighter, increasing the overall handling and stability.

The 2016 Fortuner is likely to compete with Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Hyundai Santa FE, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and Ford Endeavour. To maintain the market share, Chevrolet was even reported to introduce offers and price cuts for their SUV- Trailblazer.
