Suzuki's New Compact SUV 'Ignis' Coming to India in 2017

BENGALURU: Suzuki ‘Ignis’, a new concept car, is unveiled at Maruti Suzuki’s 44th Tokyo Motor Show. The auto mobile company also unveiled the production version of the compact SUV at the Tokyo Motor Show 2015, reports IndiaToday.

We are also expecting that the company might unveil the compact SUV Suzuki Ignis at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2016 and launch it by 2017.

The Suzuki Ignis will come with a 1.2L, Dual-Jet engine that gives out maximum power output of 89bhp and maximum torque of 120Nm, along with a five-speed manual transmission and a CVT transmission. The car might also come with the AWD function offering SHVS technology in it. The dimensions of the new compact SUV will be 3705mm in length, 1670mm in width and 1600mm in height.

We expect that this new Car will not come to India any sooner than 2017 and it will give a good competition to the already existing compact cars in the Indian market such as Hyundai Creta, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300. The new Maruti Suzuki Ignis might come with a price tag of 6 lakh-10 lakh (ex showroom Delhi).
