Suzuki Is Likely to Unleash the Power of its All New Gixxer 250

BENGALURU: Previously, as few images of Suzuki’s new GSX-R250 (Gixxer 250) stirred the internet in December last year, motorcycle enthusiasts could get the first impressions of the upcoming motor marvel. The recent images show Suzuki’s motoGP logo in blue and a fine finishing of the entire body in Red and Black. Although the official launch venue is not yet announced, the company is expected to launch its new quarter-litre sport bike at the upcoming 2016 Milan Motorcycle show in November or the INTERMOT in October.

Lewis Croft, Suzuki’s Marketing Manager in Australia also announced that the company will launch new products at the upcoming events–one of them might be the new quarter-litre motorcycle. "We are aware of this motorcycle and are currently studying its feasibility in the Australian market," says Lewis, mentioning about GSX-R250. Furthermore, it is believed that when the GSX-R250 will be launched in India, it may also be known as the ‘Gixxer 250’.

Suzuki’s new Gixxer 250 is expected to be powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine paired up with a six-speed gearbox. Considering the design, it is built up with a frame that resembles the Gixxer 150 version which was previously introduced in the Indian market. With the new Gixxer, users can expect an output that ranges between 25-28PS, as the Japanese company has specifically designed it to be an efficient sport tourer. The company’s price-tag  will also effectively compete against the KTM RC 200 and the Honda CBR250R. Additionally, the new GSX-R250 is expected to enter the global market by early 2017, and the Indian market by mid 2017.
