Royal Enfield Himalayan: 4 Things To Know

BANGALORE: Royal Enfield’s most awaited ‘Himalayan’, the all new adventure motorcycle is ready and set to launch in November 2015. On the other hand, the upcoming bike from RE is seen on the internet and has become talk of the town. The Himalayan is nothing like other motorcycles built by Royal Enfield, which is why this bike has all eyes in the country towards it.

Yet, what makes the next member of Royal Enfield a head turner? Here are the reasons why the Himalayan cannot be a flop in the market, reports Gaadi.com.

International Design

Quite some time ago, Royal Enfield acquired an UK based engineering development firm – Harris Performance. Having Harris Performance in the team RE introduced Continental GT Café Racer motorcycle, which became a sensation in the motorcycle world. The same team is behind the new Himalayan as well and the spy images that are circulating on the internet reveal that the Himalayan will be a charmer.

Engine

There are too many speculations made by all the bike lovers out there, such as every engine that powered RE motorcycles in the recent past. Amidst these rumours there is another addition to it, as the firm is building new engine for the new bike to fit the adventure tourer profile. However, there is no official confirmation on the engine specifications yet. But, soon the specification will be shared by the company as the bike is scheduled to launch in November.

No Competition

The Indian motorcycle market is most difficult market to be surviving as there are pioneer such as Bajaj and Hero in the race. However, the Himalayan is said to be an adventure touring motorcycle and it is the one of its kind vehicle as there are no competition from any Indian two-wheeler manufacturers. The absence of adversaries in this segment, Himalayan cannot be a flop in the market.

Price

Generally, the performance adventure tourer motorcycles don’t come with humble price tag. Since the Himalayan is manufactured locally, we can expect a fair price somewhere between 2 and 2.8Lakhs. If this is the price we are expected to pay for a performance adventure touring motorcycle then RE gets the fat share of market this year end with Himalayan.
