Reality Check: It's Now Confirmed that Women Enjoy Spending Long Hours in Shopping then Men

BENGALURU: The most loved thing for women is the most hated stuff for men. Can you guess what it could be? It’s none other than shopping. Although, there are no evidence to prove that women shop more than men, but ultimately women love shopping. According to The Economic Times, women could spend hours and hours shopping all day compared to men who defy shopping.  A study conducted in 2013 on 2,000 shoppers in UK also revealed that men got blasé of shopping within 26 minutes. While, women on the other hand did not show any sign of pall for nearly two hours.

Like it’s portrayed in movies, it’s not all that fun to go for shopping with the partner. The UK study also found that one of the two shopping trips with partners ended up in arguments. Accompanying partners in shopping mall is a very hectic task which could even bring you death. Being said, in 2013, a Chinese man jumped to his death at a Beijing mall because his girlfriend wanted to head out to more garment showroom, even after five-hour marathon shopping.

Looking into the solution, some malls have even set up day centers especially for grown up men, so that they don’t discourage their partners. The day centers provide leisure facilities like television along with snacks and drinks. Similarly, a Spa in Gurgaon serves sandwich and coffee if boarded during lunch hours.

Both the genders portrayed different responses to essential activities in their daily lives. Moreover, one theory suggests that men and women’s behavior is derived from past hundreds and thousands of years conditioning. During ancestor’s period, the duty of the males in the family was to hunt animals quickly and get back safely, while females gathered fresh foods from the forests in a group. This theory also highlights the modern scenario that 80 pct of men prefer to shop in less time. While, women take longer time to shop by comparing products and looking at alternatives to find the right choice.
