New Pajero Sport To Launch In 2017, To Take On Ford Endeavour and Fortuner


BENGALURU: Mitsubishi, a Japanese car maker has unveiled a new version of its Pajero and the car is expected to hit the Indian car market in mid 2017, as reported by AUTOCAR INDIA.

Pajero, which is the only model that is being sold by the Mitsubishi in India, will be replaced by the updated version ‘Pajero Sports.’ The updated version is expected to have a deeply upgraded interior along with river-assist features added to new safety systems.  

The latest variant is expected to get the off-mode and 4WD system. The engine is likely to have 170-180bhp as the Pajero Sport international variant is featuring 2.4-liter MIVEC turbo diesel engine with eight-speed automatic gearbox. But the official specification is yet to be out on the engine power.

As per the Mitsubishi, the Pajero Sports will get chrome, large framework, lustrous headlights and newly designed taillights, four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, where you can control the audio system, Bluetooth and indicator light. Also, a leather upholstery to enhance the seating comfort.

Other features include touchscreen infotainment system connected to a 360 degree camera. Further, Driver and passenger safety has got a significant update as the car is updated with 7 airbags, autonomous braking, blind spot monitoring and descent control system.

As said by the Mitsubishi the new variant is supposed to be manufactured in the Thailand plant and will be assembled at the Hindustan Motors Chennai plant. The company may price the car above 20 lakh, since it is said to be the competitor for same range cars like Ford Endeavour and new Toyota Fortuner.
