New Line Of Cars To Be Unveiled In Feb

Bangalore: The Indian auto expo is certainly getting bigger and better by showcasing all the latest edition of cars. And this year is no exception.

With India’s presence as a global automotive market growing bigger, despite a slow growth and weak sales, the number of launches and debuts are much higher than ever before.

The Auto Expo organizers revealed through an official tweet that there are 15 cars lined up to make a debut for this year’s Expo.  And here is a brief overview of the new line of cars to be unveiled in February, as reported by Rediff.com

Maruti Celerio

The Maruti Celerio hatch back which was released in the form of a concept model at the auto show in Europe is going to be the Maruti’s replacement for A-Star. And Maruti is planning to come out with few changes in the concept version for the Indian market and is expected to replace its older version along with the Estilo.

The Maruti Celerio is expected to come out with a new 800cc diesel engine, which will produce 70 to 75bhp and 150 to 170Nm of torque. It will have the same transmission options that are in the current A-star.

The Maruti Celerio will be priced at 3.850 to 4.940 lakh and it may also increase 10,000 to 20,000 more than that of its existing model and will be competing with Hyundai Santro Xing, Chevrolet Beat, Nissan Micra Active and the Tata Indica V2. And is probably one of the few segments that the Indian manufacturer doesn’t dominate.
