BANGALORE: The most awaited car launch for 2015 is finally here and in a new avatar. Yes! You guessed it right we are talking about the all new Honda Jazz, which is now available for pre-bookings at a token advance of 51, 000. Although we don’t know why such a big amount for a booking, what we know here is that the New Jazz has gone live with all the details on the Honda Indian website, reports oncars.

Although Honda has not disclosed how many variants it would be launched, but as of now the Jazz will be available in two engine options one being a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and other being the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. While the petrol engine powers out a decent 90PS of power and 115Nm of torque, the diesel mill produces a 100PS of power and 200Nm of torque.

On the exterior, the New Jazz looks upbeat with its styling as it gets a City-like Solid Wing Face grille a 15-inch alloy wheels for the top-end variants, LED taillights, Spoiler on the top-end VX trim and Wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators.

And on the inside, the basic and mid variants get a 5-inch non-touchscreen audio system, where as the top-end VX model gets a 6.2-inch touchscreen unit with DVD capability, navigation system and reverse camera apart from MP3/AUX/USB/Bluetooth and iPod connectivity.

The best news for Indian buyers comes here, as Honda claims an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 27.3 km/l for the Jazz diesel, which means the Jazz will be India's second most fuel efficient diesel passenger vehicle after Celerio, offering a little more than 0.32 km/l.

Prices for the new Jazz will be announced at its national launch on July 8, 2015. But it is expected that the hatchback will be priced at 5 lakh to 8.5 lakh ex-Showroom, New Delhi and will compete against the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, Fiat Punto Evo and Volkswagen Polo in its class.
