Most Awaited Kawasaki Z250 launched in India

Z250 Sport Bike

BANGALORE: Kawasaki launches the Z250 sport bike in India at 2.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). In order to compete with other companies like KTM, Honda and Yamaha, the company has taken a leap forward to launch the Z250 which is similar to its sister series the Z800.

Apparently, this sports bike from Kawasaki is said to be the company’s third naked bike in the Z series and in terms of looks and design, it borrows extensively from the latter (Z800). The bike shares its similarities of the head lamps, side view mirrors and the fuel tank with the Z800. But, its tail light design is taken from the Ninja 300 including the same tachometer, LCD display for speed, trip and fuel information. Even the alloys and exhaust have been taken from the Z800.

The chassis is mounted on a 299cc Liquid-cooled Twin motor attached to a 6-speed gear box. This beast puts out a roaring torque of 21Nm with an output of 33bhp and bike is fitted with a 17 litre fuel tank.

The acceptability of most sport bikes with a high rear seating order, adds to its predator like looks. In this case, the Z250 comes with a rear seat height of 785mm and good ground clearance of 145mm.  The Z250 is built around a tube diamond shaped steel chassis which adds some more aggressive looks to it.

Moreover, the Z250 will be sold by Bajaj-pro biking dealers and will be assembled locally. The price tag makes it the Kawasaki’s cheapest bike in India; however the unavailability of an anti-lock braking system (ABS) makes it quite expensive for many enthusiasts.
