Maruti Ciaz Diesel Hybrid Hits The Indian Streets

BENGALURU: Good news for all the sedan buyers out there as Maruti will bring in the most fuel efficient car, Ciaz Hybrid. The car hits the Indian markets and is the first model to sport a hybrid system which enhances the fuel efficiency, reports Indian Autos Blog.

Apparently, the Maruti Ciaz SHVS will be the same as a usual one carrying a 1.3 litre engine. But the hybrid version here will be equipped with a large capacity battery; starter generator and a start-stop technology helping it achieve a fuel efficiency of 30 Km/litre. Furthermore, the ISG- Integrated starter generator on the car gives out engine power using the motor which puts out great efficiency.

However, on the efficiency front the 1.3 litre diesel which presently powers the car puts out about 26 Km/L, but with this hybrid technology on board it gets out about 28.09KM/L making it the most fuel efficient sedan choices out there. On the Longer run, this Hybrid system from Suzuki is likely to power other diesel cars like Ertiga and Swift as well.

As far as the models and pricing is concerned, the new Ciaz SHVS will be available in three models- VDi, ZDi and ZDi+ and is priced at 8.23 lakh.
