Maruthi Suzuki Baleno Launch Date, Specs, Features & More

BENGALURU: The all-new vehicle from Maruti Suzuki India will be the Baleno hatchback , which has already begun production at the company's Manser based facility. Maruti Suzuki’s Hatchback Baleno is all prepped for its launch on October 26, according to intoday.in.

The all-new Suzuki Baleno is based on the Japanese carmaker's new-generation platform, which has been designed to efficiently increase vehicle's rigidity while reducing its weight via redesign of the under-body structure and optimizing overall vehicle parts mounted under-body. The Baleno hatchback will be similar to the global model that was unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show but the biggest difference however will be the engines offered in India.

Engine Variants:

The all new India-bound model of Baleno is offered with a 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine and a more-powerful version of the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol unit. The 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine puts out a maximum power of 83bhp and maximum torque of 116 Nm which is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a CVT gearbox. While the 1.3 DDiS diesel engine will produce a peak power of 74bhp and peak torque of 188Nm, which is also mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

As far as the fuel efficiency figures are concerned, the petrol variant of the new Baleno gives a fuel efficiency of 21.4kmpl, while the diesel variant is pegged at 27.39kmpl.

Features:

As far as features are concerned, Baleno comes with the top notch touches of its class. On the inside, the car gets more premium interior with a touchscreen infotainment system with steering mounted controls and a more polished cabin. The infotainment system will also support Apple CarPlay which is first in this segment.

 However on the outside, it’s all a new design and most catching to the eye are the day time running lights which are striking and there are projector headlights too to accommodate a hassle free night time driving. The Chrome Grill design also looks a class apart from the rest of the segment as it signifies its presence on the road.

Colors:

The all-new Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be available in 7 different color options- Ray Blue, Fire Red, Autumn Orange, Premium Urban Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Metallic Premium Silver and Granite Gray.    

Competition:

Maruti Suzuki Baleno will rival against the likes of Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and its own Swift in the Indian market.

Price:

The price of Maruti Suzuki Baleno is expected to start from 6 lakh to10 lakh (ex showroom Delhi).
