Mahindra Thar Facelift Launched: All The Details


BANGALORE: The much awaited Mahindra Thar facelift has been rolled out in India at a price tag of 8.03 lakh (ex-showrrom). The car gets its major upgrade ever since it launched in the year 2010. The facelifted variant targeting the off-roading enthusiasts, will take on the likes of Foce Gurka and many more in its segment as   Thar is a cult off-roader to buy, reports NDTV. 

Infused with new features, the New Mahindra Thar appears a compelling proposition. Let us have a look at the features introduced in the new CRDe variant that comes with Industry-first, mechanical locking rear differential technology.

Superior exteriors: new clear lens headlamps for added safety, with new front & rear rugged looking bumpers complement the timeless design, new muscular wheel arches, side footsteps and canopy.

Fine new interiors: Dual-tone dashboard, broader seats, new gear knob and steering wheel, equipping 2 DIN music system, beige gear lever with two cup holders, re-designed HVAC vents, new windshield demister, 12V charging point, door trims with arm rests and lockable glove box.

Engine specifications : Powerful and fuel efficient 2.5 litre CRDe engine conveying a maximum power of 105bhp at 3800rpm with 247Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a high ground clearance of 200mm.

Pre-existent features:  Extreme 44 degree and 27 degree approach and departure angle respectively, 4WD with high & low ratios.

The facelifted variant will be available in 5 colors that include Fiery Black, Diamond White, Mist Silver, Red Rage & Rocky Beige.

10,000 units of this car are sold every year out which the DI variant leads with a majority. At the event of launching the new upgraded variant,  Pravin Shah, President and Chief Executive (Automotive) Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd said, "Today as we launch the new avtaar of the ever popular off-roader, the effort is to enhance the appeal of a brand that is already a cult"
