Mahindra Goes Green with the Release of e-Verito

BENGALURU: An alarming situation from Delhi that fired out about the ban of diesel cars intimidated many automobile industries. Foreseeing the conditions of the automotive market in India, one of the Indian automotive company, Mahindra releases its zero tailpipe emission ‘Mahindra e-Verito’. e-Verito is the first electric sedan in the company portfolio. Following the issues like environmental degradation, pollution related challenges, climate change and energy security there has never been a better time to switch to electric vehicles.

With the release of Mahindra REVA the first electric powered hatchback, the company received commandments from UK. This car is Lithium-ion battery operated, covering a range of 120 kilometers. Following the release of REVA, Mahindra developed e2o, a two-door four-seater hatchback with a price tag between 6.5 lakh to 8.5 lakh Rupees. The e2o reaches 0-100 kmph under 8 seconds.

Coming to e-Verito, it is driven by electric induction motor, reaching  a top speed of 85 km/hour after 7 hours of full charge. Also, the car can be charged in 1.45 hours and it covers a distance of 110 kilometers. The car offers the driver with a hill-hold and stand-still pick up feature which eases driver’s effort during up-hill and down-hill. This car is self-feeding as it converts the kinetic energy of the moving vehicle into electrical energy.  This eco-friendly car comes in 3 variants and is priced between 9.5 lakh and 10 lakh Rupees. Further, the company is also looking into introducing more electrically powered vehicles like busses with an aim to have products which are affordable and at the same time that address environmental concerns.
