Kawasaki to Launch Sub 2 Lakh Z250SL by End Of 2015


BENGALURU: Japanese motorcycle makers Kawasaki will soon launch its new single-cylinder bike Z250SL in India by the end of the year 2015, reports International Business Times.

The bike is reportedly powered by liquid cooled 249cc four-stroke engine and the bike has 26bhp power and 22.6Nm torque along with a six speed transmission. It will be sold in the market at a price range of 1.5 to 2 lakh.

The bike has a wheelbase of 1330mm and fuel tank capacity of 11 litres. The motorcycle measures 1935 mm in length, 700 mm in width, and 1015 mm in height with a kerb weight of 148kg.

"Components such as handlebars, clutch plates, front and rear suspensions, wheels, tyres, head- and tail-lamps, electrical switches, switch housings, radiator fans and other similar parts is likely to be locally sourced for the Z250SL," a source close to the development said.

The procurement of parts from local sources will help Kawasaki price the vehicle competitively in the range of Rs 1.5 to 2 lakh.

Kawasaki has no intention to stop its previous version Z250 and both the bikes Z250 and new Z250SL will be sold in the market simultaneously.
