Jet Fighter Inspired Limited Edition Lamborghini Huracan Set to Raise Mercury This Summer

BENGALURU: Honoring Ferruccio Lamborghini’s 100th birth anniversary, the Italian supercar maker showcased its limited edition Centenario at the Geneva Motor Show; a V12, 770HP flight pressed against asphalt capable of rocketing from zero to 100 kmph under 2.8 seconds. With only 40 Centenarios manufactured, each unit sold out even before the unveiling. In a bid to quench the “Lambo” fans, the manufacturer has come out with another special edition, the Huracán LP 610-4 Avio.

The Avio is based on the already available Huracán, so the performance will remain unaltered; a naturally aspirated 610HP V10, 5,204 cc engine that can blast from zero to 100 kmph in under mere 3.2 seconds and can fly on the road in excess of 325 kmph. The stated numbers and the chassis are where the resemblance ends. The car is inspired by the rich history of aeronautical engineering and fighter jets. The Avio’s cockpit has been designed to offer the occupants, or at least the driver the feel of piloting a jet fighter. A push to a huge red button injects life into the engine resting between the occupants and the tail lights, with the loud signature Lamborghini rumbling. The neatly laid out plethora of controls have been moved to a central console.

The interiors are draped in all black leather with contrasting white stitches and laser engraved Alcantara. The seats and the doors feature the exclusive “L 63” logo. Externally what sets the Avio apart from Huracán are five new paint finishes, four of which are matte and sporty stripes running along the length of the car.

The Avio comes armed with features such as GPS, cruise control and a lift system for raising the car's nose sufficiently for clearing speed bumps or kerbstones.

Production of the Huracán LP 610-4 Avio will take place at company's Sant'Agata production facility. The manufacturer has announced that only a limited count of 250 units will be produced and deliveries will commence starting this summer.
