JLR to Launch All-New Jaguar XE on Feb 3; Bookings Open

NEW DELHI: Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover outlets across India have started accepting orders for the all-new XE, which will be launched in the Indianmarket on February 3, 2016. The new Jaguar XE will be made available in two petrol variants delivering 197bhp and 237bhp respectively.

The new Jaguar XE is also the first product in its segment to have an aluminium-intensive monocoque frame which, Jaguar says, will make it the most advanced and refined sports saloon in its class.

Commenting on commencement of bookings, Rohit Suri, President, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd. (JLRIL), said, "The All-New Jaguar XE displays levels of innovation never seen before in this segment. Coming from an impeccable lineage of extraordinary Jaguar sports saloons, we are confident that XE's thrilling performance and dynamic design will set a new standard for excellence and will be a game changer in the segment. The launch of the all-new Jaguar XE in petrol in February this year will flag-off our journey to enter into a new territory and mark a significant milestone in the expansion of Jaguar's product offering in India."

Both the variants of the Jaguar XE will be powered by a four-cylinder, two-litre petrol engine delivering 197 and 237bhp of maximum power. Where the 197bhp variant will have a maximum torque of 320Nm, the 237bhp version will have a maximum torque of 340Nm. Both the cars will have an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

In international markets, Jaguar also sells XE with a diesel variant which is not going to be offered in the Indian market anytime soon. Jaguar's hesitance also can be blamed on the latest verdict, which has banned sales of diesel cars and SUVs over 2,000cc.

The all-new Jaguar XE will host a range of features like torque vectoring by braking, All Surface Progress Control (ASPC), Softgrain Windsor leather seats, panoramic sliding sunroof, interior mood lighting, navigation system, 380-watts Meridian sound system and surround camera system.
