Hyundai Creta India Launch Tomorrow: All The Details

BANGALORE: keep the date marked as Hyundai’s most awaited compact SUV ‘Creta’ is all set to launch in India tomorrow (21st July, 2015).  The car that has shaken up the Indian auto market with its first impressions has already received over 28,500 enquiries and 10,000 pre-bookings and is set to double these figures when it makes its debut in India tomorrow, reports CarTrade.

Although it was first launched in China called ix25, but in India and worldwide, it will bear the name Creta at its back. The car that is being manufactured with almost 90 percent localization is set to rival the cars that price between the 6-15 lakh that include Ford Eco Sport, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra Scorpio and the upcoming Maruthi Suzuki S Cross.

Engine Specifications

Having scheduled to launch on July 21, 2015, the Creta looks like a cut down version of its elder sibling the Santa fe that will come in a total of four variants – Base, S, SX and SX (O) being the top of line variant. However, the variants that will be offered now include a 1.6-litre dual VTVT petrol, a 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel and 1.6-litre CRDi diesel. The 1.6-litre petrol engine churns out a maximum power of 121bhp with 151Nm of torque, whereas, the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines power out 89bhp with 220Nm and 126bhp with 259Nm torque respectively.

Features

In terms of features, the exterior of Creta is quite stylish as it carries a singular hexagonal radiator grille with three horizontal slats, a projector head-lamps, vertical fog lamps, black plastic cladding running all around the body and roof rails in chrome.

On the inside, the SX Variant is said to get a dual-tone dashboard and seats, standard infotainment system without a touch-screen option, climate control, reverse camera with display in the rear-view mirror, reverse parking sensors, standard radio antenna. Whereas the SX (O) variant may feature a 17-inch Diamond-cut alloy wheels, push-button start with keyless entry, bigger touch-screen infotainment system with display for reverse camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel, shark-fin radio antenna and additional chrome strips running over the bumpers and door handles. But again the above mentioned features may be variant specific.

Prices

Although there is not enough information at this movement on Creat’s pricing but there is enough indicators that Hyundai will range it between 8-12 lakhs rupees (ex-showroom) to give a resounding message to its rivals that include the Ford Ecosport, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Cross in its segment.
