Honda Unveils the Next-Generation Civic Type R at Paris Motor Show

BENGALURU: The next-generation Civic Type R makes its worldwide debut in the archetype form at the 2016 Paris auto show. With its heavy, lustrous hatchback design and impressive performance, radical new Civic Type R is geared up to roll out for the market availability. Beginning up with its first-ever Honda-badged Type R in the U.S, the model is all set to make its North American debut in November at SEMA in Las Vegas.

The Civic Type R Prototype offers a glimpse of next-generation Civic Type R that will be launched in 2017. Next-generation Civic Type R will be released along with 10th Generation Civic Sedan, Civic Coupe, lately launched Civic Hatchback, and also with the Civic Si variants. The Civic Type R Prototype is augmented based on new Civic Hatchback by strong body styling and enhancements to assist aerodynamic performance.

Focusing on Exterior design, it is covered with highly reflective, finely-grained brushed aluminum-effect finish, which is rarely seen in prototype car. Front part of the car sports a winged carbon fiber splitter and sporty red accent line. Besides, slatted ducts add up width to the outlook, and diamond-mesh inserts to fill the sculpted air intakes.

Honda’s official symbol red "H" badge adds up to the beauty of the entire Type R models that is positioned on the front grille at the center of the car. Honda civic Type R is embraced with LED headlights, indicators and side indicator.

The next generation Civic Type R was created by the joint venture of Honda R&D teams in Europe and Japan and will be officially revealed in near future. The 2017 Civic Type R will be manufactured exclusively at the Honda UK Manufacturing plant in Swindon, the global manufacturing hub.
